One of Jon Acuff's recent tweets was this little gem. "Many journeys are ruined by the lie that you have to know the destination before you start. God knows. Our job is to go."
And it is true. If I sit back and wait for God to fully explain His will before I start to do His will, well, I'm going to be sitting and waiting for a long time. I've learned that God will give me the directions I need as I need them. And that's good. I'm cool with it.
Because I know that if God had come to me back in 2001 and said 'Look, 10 years from now you are going to be doing this and this and that', it would have been way too much information for me to handle. Honestly, I wouldn't have believe Him. I didn't have the faith then to believe that God was going to do some great things with my life.
Instead God came to me and said 'Stop the pity party. Let's talk about forgiveness.' God gave me just enough information to get me going on what has become a remarkable journey of learning to live within His will.
To the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen (Romans 16:27)
