There are three things which are
always true. No matter what happens, no
matter when or where you are, there are three things which you can always hold
on to as TRUTH!
First, God
Loves You! As a matter of fact, God
loves you even if you don’t believe in Him.
He loves you even if you don’t love Him back. He loves you on your worst day when you just
can’t seem to get things together. He
loves you as you are and because He loves you, He wants to change your
life. And there is nothing – absolutely nothing
– that can come between you and His love for you.
For I am sure that neither death nor life,
nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of
God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:30-39)
Second,
God is good! He loves, He creates, He
is merciful, and He leads those who turn to Him. His goodness is seen in the beauty of creation
from beautiful sunsets to vast mountain ranges. His goodness is seen in acts of kindness and compassion.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is
the man who takes refuge in him! (Psalm
34:8)
Finally,
God is sovereign! Sovereign is a word we
don’t use very often today. When I think
of sovereignty, I think of a king sitting on a throne overlooking a vast
kingdom. That king is sovereign over his
kingdom. There is no one more powerful than the king. He has many people living in
his kingdom. Some of those people do things
which the king doesn’t like. But that
doesn’t change the fact that the kingdom belongs to the king and he is
sovereign over it. That’s what God
is. God is sovereign over all
creation. We live under
God’s sovereignty.
To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. (1 Timothy 1:17)
Even
in the midst of turbulent times when our culture becomes filled with lies and
half-truths, it is good to know that real truth exists. And we can build our lives on the foundation
which is found in knowing the truth about God.
